    • June 30, 1901 ~ Ransom E. Jones, age 84 years, 11 months, Married, Retired, born in New York, Son of Pliney Jones born in Massachusetts, and Olive Tiffts born in Connecticut, Died in Pulaski of paralysis of the heart, old age.

Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, July 3, 1901 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Chauncey R. Jones died at his home in this village at five o'clock Sunday morning, aged 84 years. Mr. Jones had been in feeble health for several months though able to be about. On Sunday morning he arose at 4:30 and went into the parlor, where Mrs. Jones found him seated in a chair shortly after. He was breathing quite heavily and complained of feeling unwell. Dr. C. E. Low was summoned at once, but Mr. Jones died before his arrival. Paralysis of the heart was the immediate cause of death. Mr. Jones was one of the oldest of Pulaski's citizens, and had figured prominently in the affairs of the place for over half a century. He was for many years engaged in the Mercantile business, but owing to his advanced age he retired in 1890. The funeral was held from his late residence on Broad street Tuesday, at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. E. A. Anson officiating.
