- HEROLD L. POTTER, ORWELL NATIVE, DIES AT 90

Herold L. Potter, 90, Bradner Village, Marion, Ind., a native of Orwell, died Monday in Marion after a long illness.
The funeral will be Wednesday at the Needham & Sons Funeral Home, Marion. A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Evergreen Cemetery, pastor David S. Rudd of the Union Free Church, Pierrepont Manor, officiating.
Local arrangements are with the Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Elsie June) Ames, Marion; two sons, Frank J., Cleveland, and Harold D., Shirley, Ark.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Two daughters, Flora May Potter and Wilma Shawhan, died before him.
Born in Orwell Nov. 28, 1897, a son of Frank and Flora May Hilton Potter, he was educated in Orwell schools.
He married Ruth Miner on Nov. 10, 1919. The couple would have celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Potter had lived in Orwell, where they owned and operated a dairy farm. They also lived for a time at Sandy Creek, and Mr. Potter was later employed as a foreman for theBreakstone Cheese Co., Syracuse, retiring in 1959.
The couple moved to Marion in 1975.

Graveside services for former Orwell resident Herold (CQ)L. Potter, 90, who died Monday in Marion, Ind., will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell.
There will be no calling hours.
A native of Orwell, Mr. Potter moved to Marion in 1975. While living in Orwell, Mr. Potter owned and operated a dairy farm. Mr. Potter retired in 1959 as a foreman from Breakstone Cheese Co., Syracuse.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, the former Ruth Miner; two sons, Frank J. of Cleveland and Harold (CQ)D. of Shirley, Ark.; a daughter, Elsie June Ames of Marion; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, has charge of local arrangements.
