Notes - Newspaper Obituary - October 14, 1992 Syracuse Herald Journal - VIRA MAY HAYES - Vira May Hayes, 91, formerly of Smiths Road died Monday at Mercy Health and Rehabilitation Center, Auburn. A native of Orwell, Mrs. Hayes also lived in Redfield and Central Square before moving to the Weedsport area in 1963. Her husband, Charles A., died in 1953. Surviving are three sons, Norman and Roy, both of Weedsport, and Vernon of Jordan; a daughter, Edith Allen of Weedsport; two brothers, Arnold Look of Weedsport and Lloyd Potter of Redfield; 23 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Jewell Funeral Home, Weedsport, the Rev. George Craik officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Redfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, 8886 S. Seneca St.
