- ORWELL NATIVE M. RUTH POTTER DIES AT AGE 95

M. Ruth Potter, 95, of 505 N. Bradner Ave., Marion, Ind., formerly of Orwell, died Saturday at Marion General Hospital.
The funeral was Tuesday at Needham-Storey Funeral Home, Marion, with the Rev. William Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Local arrangements are with Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek.
Memorial donations may be made to Chapel Pike Wesleyan Church, 2171 W. Chapel Pike, Marion.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Elsie) Ames, Marion; a son, Harold D., Shirley, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Two daughters, Flora May Potter and Wilma Shawhan, and a son, Frank J., died previously.
Born June 18, 1900, at Orwell, she was educated in Orwell schools and married Harold L. Potter on Nov. 10, 1919.
The couple resided in Orwell, where they owned and operated a dairy farm. Mrs. Potter was employed by Wesleyan Publishing House, Syracuse, retiring in 1969. They moved to Marion. Mr. Potter died Nov. 7, 1988.
Mrs. Potter was a member of Chapel Pike Wesleyan Church.

M. Ruth Potter, 95, of Marion, Ind., died Saturday at Marion General Hospital.
Mrs. Potter was a native of Orwell, where she owned and operated a dairy farm with her late husband. She retired from Wesleyan Publishing in Syracuse in 1969 and then moved to Marion.
Mrs. Potter was a member of Chapel Pike Wesleyan Church of Marion.
Surviving are a daughter, Elsie Ames of Marion; a son, Harold D. of Shirley, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday in Marion. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Orwell.
