- Online Obituary - Brenda L. Lighthall, 46, of Rome, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at Crouse Irving Hospital in Syracuse with her loving family at her side. She was born on October 7, 1967, in Rome, the daughter of Donald Lighthall and Dorothy Lyons. Surviving besides her father and step-mother, Donald and Phyllis Lighthall, of Prospect; are her fiancé, Edwin Gil, of Rome, a daughter, Kaylianna Marshall Gil, of Rome; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Robin and Wayne Yeomans, of Port Bryon, Susan and Herbert Marshall, Melody Marshall, and Michele Duraway, all of Rome; a brother, Frank Lighthall, of Rome; step brothers and sisters, Carl Lighthall, Timothy Lighthall, Dawn Lighthall, Grace Lighthall, Bradley Lighthall, DeeDee Bowman, Renee Lighthall, and Gilbert Sharon; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles including special nieces and nephews, Tera Marshall, Melissa Marshall, Brittany Marshall, James Curtis, Derek Marshall, Herbie Marshall, and Cody Marshall. Brenda was predeceased by her mom, Dorothy Myers; and a sister, Mary Cadrette. Brenda's family wishes to express their gratitude to the Doctors, Nurses, and staff at Crouse Hospital for the kindness and compassion shown to her. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014, at 6:00 PM at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Interment will take place in Maple Flats Cemetery in the spring. Family and friends are invited and may call on Friday prior to the service from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
