At the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Marsh, at 5:30 pm on Monday, occurred the death of Mrs. Elizabeth Fillmore Golly, widow of Joseph Golly. For the past two years she had been in poor health, suffering from a general breaking down of the system, and for the past five weeks was confined to the bed. Mrs. Golly, who was a daughter of the late Asa and Sophia Fillmore, was born in Lee on August 4, 1824. She resided in that town till two years ago, when she came to Rome. She was married to Mr. Golly on September 6, 1849. His death occurred 19 years ago. Surviving are one son and three daughters, Fillmore Golly, Mrs. Thomas Marsh and Mrs. E. E. MacFarland of this city, and Mrs. William H. Newey of West Branch. She also leaves one brother, Albert D. Fillmore, Warehouse Point, Conn. Mrs. Golly was a member of the Methodist Church of Lee Valley and was very active in church work till her health failed her. She was highly esteemed by her wide circle of acquaintances and her death will be sincerely mourned.
