Newspaper Obituary - Thursday Evening December 17, 1908 Oswego Daily Times - Oswego, New York - Pulaski - An Old Resident - Mrs. William H Filkins Was A Lifelong Resident of Richland - Pulaski, December 17 - Mrs. William H. Filkins, who was the daughter of Benjamin Ingersoll, first white male child born in the town of Richland, passed away Tuesday night. Mrs. Filkins, who was born in this town on March 19, 1826, many years ago, sustained an injury to the hip, which had crippled her for life and recently fell at her home in Mill Street, injuring the hip, which resulted in her death. She was a member of the First Methodist Church and a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union. During the past quarter of a century she has been a resident of Pulaski. Her husband survives. She also leaves five sons, Edward L. and Louis D. Filkins, both of Syracuse; H. Eugene of Pulaski; Charles B. of Phoenix, and Isaac H. of Hartford, Connecticut; and three daughters, Mrs. Seymour J. Fox of Pulaski; Mrs. Bert S. Mickel of Oswego and Mrs. Charles Sheridan of Camden; also two brothers, Lyman Ingersoll of Buffalo and Oscar M. Ingersoll of Lacona Funeral will be held at the house at 1 p.m. tomorrow and an hour later at the Methodist Church.
