- Newspaper Obituary - October 28, 1926 Sandy Creek News - Ethel S. Orton - Ethel S. Orton, one of the oldest residents of the town of Richland, died Monday evening, October 11, 1926, at the home of his niece, Mrs. Ora Harmon, after a few weeks' illness. Mr. Orton was born at Kasoag, October 12, 1848, and for 70 years had resided on the farm in Meacham District which he left only a few weeks ago when failing health made a change of home necessary. Fifty six years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Kilburn, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kilburn of Sandy Creek, who preceded him in death by five months. Mr. Orton is the last of a large family. His funeral was held from the Harmon home in Delano street, Pulaski, on the Wednesday following his death. Rev. E. H. Scott of the Pulaski Methodist Church officiated. Burial was made in Woodlawn cemetery, Sandy Creek.
