Mr. Price was born in the south part of the town of Richland, October 13, 1867, a son of Jackson and Saphrona Price. His home had been in the Willis district until he came to Pulaski to live about six years ago when he became a janitor at the academy. His earlier years were spent in the operation of the farm in the Willis district. He was successful as a farmer and later as landscape gardener. The gardens and lawns at Douglaston under his management and care were most attractive and were often pointed out as the most beautiful in this vicinity. Under his care and management, also, the school grounds became a beauty spot. He was a man of refined nature, finding joy in his work on the lawns among the flowers and shrubbery. In his work at the academy he made many friends among the students and faculty and throughout the community he was highly esteemed.
