      Stella S. Bentley, 87, of 70 Salina St., died Wednesday at Mercy of Northern New York, Watertown.

      Mrs. Bentley worked at General Electric Co. in Syracuse until her retirement in 1974.

      Born Jan. 6, 1919, in West Virginia, daughter of Stanley and Margaret Kaziol Skotnicki, she graduated from Pulaski High School.

      She married Harwood Bentley in 1939. The couple had lived in Lacona since 1945. Mr. Bentley died Aug. 27, 1988.

      She was a member of Christ Our Light Catholic Community.

      Surviving are two daughters, Deanna M. Barber, Orwell, and Judy K. Shannon, Naples, Fla.; two sons, Ted M., West Amboy, and Terry L., Lacona; a brother, Henry Skotnicki, Rochester; a sister, Alice Koch, Pulaski, 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

      Three sisters and three brothers died before her.

      A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ Our Light St. Frances Church, with the Rev. Sean O'Brien officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek.

      Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek.
