    • Her obituary in Sandy Creek News, undated ( but in year she died) reads:

      "The youngest of four daughters of Captain John and Elinor MacMartin, LeMoine Ripson, was born at Daysville, New York, May 14, 1856. Her father was a captain on the Great Lakes, and, naturally, had many adventures incident to the vocation which he followed.

      Completing her education, Miss Ripson served as a teacher for six years in the rural schools of her community. January 9, 1884, she became the bride of J. Spencer Knollin, a well-known farmer of Sandy Creek, N.Y., and for slightly over thirty years they resided on a farm near the Ellisburg Road, about two miles outside of the village. When they retired from farming, they moved to Sandy Creek, and lived on North Main Street until 1927.

      They then went to Pulaski, where they made their home with the late Hartwell Douglass, whose wife was a sister of Mrs. Knollin. There Mr. Knollin passed away on August 8, 1930. But Mrs. Knollin continued to reside at Pulaski until the death of Mr. Douglass on February 3, 1936. The following April she came to the home of her daughter Mrs Reo Hadley, on the Hadley Road. There the closing period of life was spent. She approached advanced age serenely and happily. March 29th, 1938, life came peacefully to its close. Her final illness lasted about a week, death being due to the infirmities incident to age. She was the last member of her family to pass to join the others in the eternal reunion.

      Genial in her disposition, thoughtful and neighborly in her relation to others, her circle of friends was wide. Many of them gathered with the family for the funeral services at the Hadley home on April 1st. The Rev. Dr. William J. Hart, a former pastor, conducted the funeral, assisted by the Rev. Walter S. Dobbie, and the body was laid to rest in the local cemetery.

      Two daughters, Mrs Reo Hadley, Sandy Creek, and Mrs. Fred Thomas, Kasoag, survive to cherish the memory of a devoted mother.

      The deceased was a member of the local Methodist Episcopal church, and was greatly interested it its welfare. She now belongs to the radiant triumphant company, of whom sometimes we sing:

      'More homelike seems the vast unknown
      Since they have entered there;
      To follow them were not so hard.
      Wherever they may fare,
      They cannot be where God is not,
      Or any sea; or shore;
      Whate'er betides, Thy love abides,
