Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday July 20, 1943 Oswego Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Pulaski - Mrs. Eva Lifts, widow of Fred Lifts, died Monday at the Eastern Star Home in Oriskany. Born July 4, 1853, she was the daughter of Charles and Liddy Ann Sternberg Calkins. She lived most of her life in the vicinity of Daysville on the Lifts farm located on Scenic Highway, near the state Park. Her nephew is now in charge of the farm. Mrs. Lifts stayed at the Eastern Star Home for seven years. She was a member of Congregational Church and the Eastern Star. Survivors include a half-sister, Mrs. Minnie Dick of Tucson, Arizona; three nieces, Mrs. Ella Kneller of Syracuse, Miss Eva Mowry of Washington, D. C., Mrs. Coe Worden of Pulaski; also two nephews, John Lifts of Camden and Fred Lifts of Pulaski. Funeral services will be conducted at the Foster Funeral Home, Thursday at 2 p.m. Dr. Howard Zeller officiating. Burial will be made in Daysville Cemetery.
