    • Newspaper Obituary - February 10, 1955 Pulaski Democrat - Mrs. John Ivens Taken by Death - Mrs. Lettie Tilkins Ivens, 85, died Saturday afternoon following a long illness. Services were held at the Foster funeral home Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. James N. Pauley, officiating. Burial was in Sandy Creek. Surviving are her husband, John Ivens; a daughter, Mrs. Grace Gerdon of Richland; two sons, Lawrence Tilkins of Auburn and Lewis Tilkins of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a brother; Harvey Tanny of Mannsville; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ivens was born at Lee Center, Jan. 28, 1870, the daughter of Reuben and Amelia Burt Tanner. She married John Tilkins in Sandy Creek in 1884 who died in 1934. She had lived in this vicinity most of her life.

      Newspaper Obituary - February 10, 1955 Sandy Creek News - Mrs. John Ivens, 85 Dies February 5 - Mrs. Nettie Tilkins Ivens, 85, wife of John Ivens, died Saturday night, February 5, 1955 in a Utica hospital following a long illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday in Pulaski at the Foster funeral home, with Rev. James N. Pauley, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating. Burial was made in Sandy Creek. Besides her husband, Mrs. Ivens is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Grace Gerdon of Richland; two sons, Lawrence Tilkins of Auburn, and Lewis Tilkins of Fort Wayne, Ind., a brother, Harvey Tanner of Mannsville, and several grandchildren. Mrs. Ivens was born, Jan. 28, 1870, at Lee Center, the daughter of Reuben and Amelia Burt Tanner. She was married to John Tilkins of Sandy Creek in 1884. He died in 1934. Later she was married to John Ivens. She had lived most of her life in this vicinity.
