      John "Jack" George DeGraw, 78 of Williamstown, died Tuesday evening at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse. He was born on April 20, 1937 in Beaver Falls, PA, the son of the late Anna and Thomas DeGraw. He married Nancy Deans and they enjoyed 51 years with lots of love and togetherness. Jack served his country in the Army as a Master Sergeant, along with the Merchant Marines. He worked for the state of Pennsylvania before moving to New York State. He worked for a candle company for a short time. He also worked for Crucible Steel for 28 years. He was a Special Deputy for Onondaga County. He was a charter member of the West Monroe Fire Department and also belonged to the West Amboy Fire Department. He was an Oswego County Fire Chaplin for many years. He talked on CB Radio for years and then became a Ham Operator KC2RVC. Jack was a member of the CNY Amateur Ham Radio Club. He loved to hunt, fish and shoot trap for the Central Square Gun Club. He added Scuba Diving to his many talents. Jack was a member of the Williamstown VFW post number #136.
      Surviving are his wife, Nancy; one son, Jay (Patti) DeGraw; four grandchildren, Jaidin DeGraw, Audrey DeGraw, Olivia DeGraw, Hunter DeGraw and his four-legged grandchild, Carley. Jack was predeceased by his brother, William T. DeGraw.
      As per Jack's wishes funeral services will be private.
      Donations may be made in Jack's name to the West Monroe, West Amboy or Altmar Fire Departments.
      Arrangements are in care of the Harter Funeral Home, Parish NY.
