- February 1, 1891 ~ Elizabeth Calkins, age 41 years, 15 days, died in the Town of Richland of Cancer.
Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, February 12, 1891 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Daysville - February 3, 1891, a mourning gathering of friends, relatives and neighbors assembled at the church to pay their last tribute of respect to all that was mortal of Mrs. Porter Calkins. For several months past, she has been a great sufferer, and it almost seemed a blessing, even to those who loved her best, when death put an end to her pain. How great has been her suffering and how patiently and uncomplainingly she has borne it all, those who have seemed to be the thought of leaving her children. Her pastor, R. F. Whipple, delivered the funeral address and paid touching tribute to the dead. Mrs. Calkins was 41 years of age, and leaves five children. Her husband's death occurred about three months ago. Relatives from out of town were present at the funeral, among them were George Bush, father of the deceased, George Bush Jr. and wife, Mrs. Patchen, Mrs. O. B. Mowry, Mr. Earl and Miss Maude Mowry.
