      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, July 7, 1909 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Port Ontario - Veteran Samuel Doane died Sunday morning the 4th, inst., from a severe illness of six days. Had he lived until the 5th of August he would have been 68 years old and with the exception of time spent in the Army and a couple years in Canada, with a year in Arizona, he has lived here all his life. His widow and daughter Mrs. Anna Calkins, wife of Grant Calkins and granddaughter Mae Calkins of Daysville survive him. Doane was a member of G. A. R., Pulaski and of I. O. O. F. Fraternity of Mexico, also of P. of I. Ontario Lodge. Butler Post will conduct the burial services and members of the 110th Reg. will act as bearers. Burial is at Daysville.
