      Grace P. Coble, 85, of 7618 North St., formerly of Sandy Creek, widow of Philip J. Coble, died Thursday evening at her home. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, with Rev. Earl M. Smith, pastor of Park United Methodist Church, officiating. Spring burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek.

      There are no calling hours.

      Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Marjorie) Favre, North Little Rock, Ark., and Mrs. Louis (Laura Mae) Zamora, New York City; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and two nieces, Lois Allen, Pulaski, and Mrs. Henry Vrooman, Mexico.

      Born in the Town of Sandy Creek on Oct. 2, 1902, a daughter of Arthur D. and Harriet Carpenter Plaisted, she was graduated from the Sandy Creek Training Class in 1921 and Sandy Creek High School in 1922.

      She taught at rural schools in the Sandy Creek area for six years.

      On June 27, 1927, she married Philip J. Coble of Avon Park, Fla., at the Methodist parsonage in Erie, Pa.

      The couple lived at Sandy Creek until 1968, when they moved to Pulaski. Mr. Coble was part-owner of the Sancona Builders Supply Co. of Sandy Creek, retiring in 1968. He died March 25, 1985, at the age of 89.

      Mrs. Coble had been a member of the Sandy Creek United Methodist Church since 1912. Her mother, Harriet Plaisted, her grandmother, Henrietta Carpenter, and her great-grandmother, Harmonius Ehle, had also been members of the same church.

      Mrs. Coble was a member of the Rhadamant Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, Sandy Creek, and a former member of the Sandy Creek Home Bureau.
