Almeda M. Farman, 76, of 4566 Route 3, died Monday morning at her home, where she was under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County.
Mrs. Farman and her husband, Richard A., owned and operated a farm on Route 3 for many years, retiring in 1990. She also worked for several years at Lakeview Hotel and at Kinney Drugs in Adams.
Born July 23, 1929, in Fernwood, daughter of Walter and Eva Youngs Murray, she graduated in 1947 from Adams High School.
She married Mr. Farman on Oct. 15, 1950, at Adams Baptist Church. He died Nov. 16, 2002.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Stephen C. and Nancy, Adams Center; three daughters and a son-in-law, Valerie LaTant, Schenectady, Mary Lou Farman, Adams, and Judy and Duane Davis, Belleville; three brothers and their wives, Douglas and Sandra Murray, Florida, Theodore and Susan Murray, Woodville, and Max and Bertha Murray, Arizona; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Esther and Leroy White, Sackets Harbor, and Nancy Berry, Adams; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Three brothers, William, Carleton and Donald Murray, and three sisters, Beatrice Southworth, Virginia Smith and Yvonne Case, died before her.
A graveside service will be later this spring in Ellisburg Cemetery.
There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville.
Donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County or to Belleville Volunteer Fire Department.
