Lewis P. Gibbs, 81, of 249 Peck Road, died Sunday at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Syracuse.
Mr. Gibbs worked 20 years for the town of Richland Highway Department and lived most of his life in Richland.
He was a life member and past commander of Robert Edwards American Legion Post 358, Pulaski, and a member of Richland Fire Department.
Born Aug. 5, 1915, at Pulaski, son of Charles and Cecile Smith Gibbs, he was an Army veteran of World War II, serving from 1941 to 1945.
He married Dorothy M. Snyder on July 6, 1949. She died Aug. 10, 1995.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy L. Bice, Pulaski, and Ella M. Gibbs, Richland, and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. Elizabeth Mowry officiating. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.
Calling hours will begin at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
