      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, May 12, 1897 Mexico Independent - Mexico, New York - Daysville - The funeral services of Mrs. Ellen Ripson were held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mason Calkins, last Tuesday, Rev. Mr. Idle officiating. For the last three months she had been a great sufferer from a fractured hip. She was the widow of John Ripson, who died nearly thirty-five years ago. Four daughters survive her, Mrs. Calkins, Mrs. Cole, and Mrs. Douglas of this place and Mrs. Knollin of Sandy Creek.
