- Allen E. Last, 72, of Lee Center, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016, at Rome Memorial Hospital.
He was born on June 6, 1943, in Rome, the son of Leland and Marguerite Crossman Last. Allen graduated from Rome Free Academy and the Williamsport Technical Institute.
On September 19, 1967, Allen was united in marriage to Kathleen Bork in Rome.
Allen was employed as a draftsman for the City of Rome for over thirty years, retiring in 1999.
He enjoyed gardening and working on his lawn tractor.
Surviving besides his loving wife of forty-eight years, Kathleen; are two sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Cindy Last, of Lee Center, and William and Sheri Last, of Rome; ten grandchildren, Carrie (Anthony) Yannarella, Krystyna Last (Gary Libby), Desiree Fleming, Christopher Smith, William Last, Jr., Timothy Last, Joshua Last, Ryan Vaughn, Chad Vaughn, and Sierra Vaughn; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Last, and Cecilia Last; and several nieces and nephews. Allen was predeceased by two brothers, Roger Last, and Marc Last.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016, at 7:00 PM at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
