William A. Last, 83,of Hastings, father of Leland W. Last died Tuesday. Son of John and Carrie Pickens Last, he was born Sept. 4, 1886, in Richland. On May 14, 1908 he married Pansy Tanner. Surviving besides his wife and son are three daughters, Mrs. Henry (Marion) Rice, Hastings, Mrs. Raymond (Amy) Trumble, Altmar, Mrs. Frederick (May) Jesmore, Central Square, three other sons, Robert Last, Ivan Last, both of Syracuse, Elmer Last of Altmar, 38 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 Friday at the Taylor Vida Funeral Home, Pulaski. Interment will be in Altmar.
Pansy Alice was born in Oswego County, New York, daughter of George and Betsy Tillapaugh Tanner. She married William Albert Last in Phoenix, Oswego County, New York on May 14, 1908. Her and William had nine children, Marion Alice, James Albert, Amy Almeda, Leland William, Robert Samuel, Clara Betty, Ivan Tanner, Elmer David and Lillian May.
