- Newspaper Obituary - March 14, 1923 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. D. B. Phillips was called to Syracuse, February 20 by the serious illness of her mother, Mrs. Helen A. Emmons who passed away the 27th, aged nearly eighty-five years. Mrs. Emmons was the widow of W. W. Emmons, a Civil war veteran and had resided in this vicinity over thirty years. Although for the past ten years she has made her home in Syracuse with her son, her summers have been spent with her daughter here. An earnest bible student and an active member of the M. E. Church for over seventy years, she leaves a priceless legacy to her two sons, W. R. Emmons, of Bristol, Conn., and R. D. Emmons, of Syracuse, and to the daughter. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted by R. D. Stanley of Casenovia, a former pastor, at the home, March 2. D. B. Phillips and sons, Guy, Lynn and Vernon were in Syracuse to attend the funeral. W. R. Emmons of Bristol, Conn., was an over Sunday guest at D. B. Phillips.
