      Rome - ill one day, Mrs. Alice R. Gorham, 86, died Dec. 21, 1943, in her home in Higginsville.

      She was born in Stanwix, daughter of Henry and Hulda Miller Tanner. She had always lived in this immediate vicinity. For the past 20 years she had lived in Higginsville. She married Daniel A. Gorham, who died in 1903. Mrs. Gorham attended the Free Methodist Church here.

      Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Andrew Dahl, Tonowanda, Mrs. Nellie Samuels, Higgsinville, a son, Leon, Higginsville, and two brothers, Fred Tanner, Stanwix, and William, Ridge Mills.
