Herbert G. Lewis, 70, of 25 Sunset Circle, died Monday at his home.
Mr. Lewis worked at General Electric in Syracuse for 41 years, retiring in 1997. He had resided at Seber Shores, town of Sandy Creek, since 2000, previously living in Memphis for 20 years and also in VanBuren for several years.
Born Oct. 16, 1935, in Altmar, son of Herbert J. and Alma Trumble Lewis, he attended Pulaski Central School.
A marriage to Beverly Fehlman ended in divorce. He married Mary Palmer. She died May 29, 1995.
He was a member of Monteola Hunting Club, Tug Hill, and a former member of the Kasoag Snowmobile Trailblazers Club.
Surviving are his companion, Joan McNitt, Sandy Creek; four daughters, Laurie Salter, Marysville, Kan., Mary Commansky, Phoenix, Ariz., Melissa Hines, Syracuse, and Sherri Deerwood, Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Rodney, New Haven, and Charles, Pulaski; three sisters, Darlene Chapell, Rochester, Sue Phelps, Sandy Creek, and Jeanette Lewis, Syracuse, and several grandchildren.
A son, William, died Feb. 25, 1995.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. Sean P. O'Brien officiating. Spring burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
