Emory L. Yerdon, 88, Central Square, former longtime resident of Redfield, died Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center, Syracuse.
Mr. Yerdon was employed by the town of Redfield Highway Department for 15 years, retiring in 1975.
Born Aug. 15, 1910, in Deerfield, son of Andrew and Clarissa Gibbs Yerdon, he attended Redfield schools and lived in Redfield for most of his life until moving to Central Square in 1993.
He married Kathleen Lago on Aug. 14, 1943. The couple owned and operated a dairy farm in North Redfield for many years.
Mr. Yerdon was a member of Redfield Wesleyan Church.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Fay A. Colvin, Brewerton, and Paulette I. Yerdon, Vestal; a son, Donald, Spencerport; three brothers, Harvey, Redfield, and Victor and Arnold, both of Phoenix, and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski. Spring burial will be in Greenboro Cemetery, North Redfield.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
