Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, January 26, 1977 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - F. Martin, Richland resident, dies at 70 - Frederick Martin, 70, of Richland passed away on Tuesday, January 18 at the House of the Good Samaritan Hospital, Watertown. He was born on July 13, 1906, the son of Edward and Hattie Bowers Martin. After he attended Richland schools, he was married to Carol M. Sampson in 1928. The couple resided in Rochester for many years where Mr. Martin was employed by a chemical manufacturing plant. They returned to Richland in 1954 where Mr. Martin was employed by the New York Central Railroad from which he retired in 1968. Mrs. Martin died on September 15, 1972. Surviving are: two sons, Frederick Martin, Jr. of San Francisco, California and Phillip C. Martin of Richland; six. daughters, Mrs. Ramona DiTasquale of Rochester, Mrs. Joan Leaper of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Barbara Ciereck of Camillus, Mrs. Coralie Scott of Richland, Mrs. Wilma Lass of Pulaski and Miss Debbie Martin of East Syracuse; four brothers, William, Robert and Harry all of Richland and Edward of Mattydale; four sisters, Mrs. Gladys Stevens of Richland, Mrs. Evelyn Hilton of Fulton, Mrs. Dorothy Weed of Pennellville and Mrs. Doris Taplin of Richland, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 20 at 2 p.m. at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski with the Rev. Gerald Brownell officiating. Spring burial will be in Richland Cemetery.
