  LEON STOWELL, 66, OF ALTMAR, DIES IN OSWEGO Show Details Watertown Daily Times (NY) - July 24, 1989Browse Issues Leon F. Stowell, 66, Altmar, died Saturday evening at the Harrwood Nursing Home, Oswego. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. David Balcom officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife, June; a son, Frederick C., Altmar; three daughters, Linda M. Rowe, Altmar, Deborah S. Petrie, Vestal, and Marjorie J. Shephard, Altmar; nine grandchildren, and a great-grandson. Born in Sandy Creek May 24, 1923, a son of Fred and Delia Dana Stowell, he was graduated from Sandy Creek Central High School in 1940. He married June Trumbull in 1945, and the couple lived in Altmar 40 years. Mr. Stowell was employed by the Tico Irrigation Co., Williamstown, and then by the Blount Lumber Co., Lacona, until his retirement in 1978.
