Raymond F. Janacek, 82, formerly of Lower Rd. West Monroe died Thursday at Clifton Fine Hospital, Star Lake. He was born on April 23, 1921 in Yankton, SD, son of Joseph and Elsie Sejnoha Janacek. He graduated from Altmar Union School in 1939. He was employed by Carrier Corporation for 25 years, retiring in 1972. He was a member of Constantia Congregational Church, member of Scriba Masonic Lodge 414 in Constantia, past Matron of OES Chapter 123 Constantia, past Monarch of Kederkhan Grotto, Syracuse.
Survived by his former wife, Jean Janacek Burrows of Newton Falls also his caregiver for the past two years, two sons, Raymond "Skip" of West Monroe and Jeremy V. of Clover, SC, two daughters, Jeanine Casselman, of Clover, SC, and Carol Pidkaminy, Canastota, one step-son Joseph Paura, West Monroe, one step-daughter Mary Beth Howard, Constantia, two brothers, Joseph of East Syracuse and Roland of Sandy Creek, three sisters, Irene Greenfield of Orwell, Delores Hall of Williamstown, Merlin Kaine, of Altmar, six grandsons, predeceased by one sister, Sylvia and one brother, Franklin.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Pine Meadows Weslyan Church, Orwell. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Altmar. Calling hours will be held 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski.
