Newspaper Obituary - Saturday, September 4, 1982 Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Pulaski - Margaret J. Rice, 65, of Tinker Tavern Road, RD 4, Pulaski, died Friday morning at Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since August 26. Born November 26, 1916, at Ellisburg to Lee and Nellie Robbins Ballou, she attended the Ellisburg school. She married Homer E. Rice on November 26, 1934 and they operated the Hilltop Fruit Stand on Route 3 until his death on September 4, 1979. She owned and operated Tirnker Kennels, raising miniature dachshunds. She was an active member of United Friends of Homeless Animals, the Pulaski Wesleyan Church and the Half-Shire Society. She is survived by a son, Charles L. of Pulaski; a daughter, Mrs. Linda Sanford of Pulaski; a brother, Richard Ballou of Central Square; five grandchildren and a great-grandson. Another brother, George Ballou, also of Central Square, died. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Wesleyan Church here with the Rev. Richard Bennett officiating. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski.
