Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, April 21, 1998 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Stephen Timmerman, Former Bus Mechanic - Stephen F. Timmerman, 49, of 76 Ivens Road, died Sunday at his home, where he had been under the care of Oswego County Hospice. He had been ill a short time with cancer. Mr. Timmerman was a life resident of Ivens Road. He was a mechanic for 22 years at the Greyhound bus garage, Syracuse, until the garage closed in 1993. For the past two years, he was a cashier at Nice-N-Easy Grocery Shoppes, Inc. in Brewerton. He and his wife, Josephine, were foster parents for more than 14 years, caring for more than 50 children, including five they adopted. Born January 6, 1949, in Oswego, son of Frederick and Bertha Ivens Timmerman, he attended Pulaski schools. He married Josephine A. "Joey" Anzalone on Oct. 19, 1980, at Sandy Creek Baptist Church. A previous marriage ended in divorce. Surviving besides his wife are four sons, Stephen Jr., Sandy Creek, and David, Scott and William, all of Pulaski; four daughters, Shannon, Rose, Michelle and Angel, all of Pulaski; a sister, Mary Waite, Pulaski; a stepsister, Betty Rebor, Fulton, and his stepmother, Gertrude Timmerman, Fulton. A son, Kevin, died in 1969. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, with the Rev. Brian Snyder, pastor of Boylston Wesleyan Church, officiating. Burial will be in Daysville Cemetery, town of Richland. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
