Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, October 12, 1967 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Floyd J. Crandall, 79, well driller in this area for the past 51 years, died in the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, late Monday evening. He had been a patient there several days. His home was at Sandy Pond. Mr. Crandall was born in Sandy Creek on September 14, 1888, son of Henry and Addie Felt Crandall. He was educated in the Sandy Creek district school. On June 6, 1919 he married Miss Clara Dana of Sandy Creek. In recent years he was associated with his son, Leon R. Crandall of Sandy Pond in the water well drilling business. He was a member of the New York State Water Well association, Sandy Pond Sportsmen association, Sandy Creek Grange 127 and a former member of the Sandy Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Besides his wife and son he is survived by a twin daughter, Mrs. Clifford (Lillian) Sherman of Pulaski; three grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Nora Ridgeway, Lacona, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home here, the Rev. Dr. Virgil Hager, pastor of Sandy Creek Baptist church officiating. Burial will be in Daysville cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
