Newspaper Obituary - Friday, November 16, 1962 The Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Pulaski - Fred G. Pond, 74, of Adams Center, died unexpectedly this morning. He was born in Fernwood, Town of Richland, October 9, 1888, son of Adelbert and Josephine Manwarring Pond. A graduate of Mexico Academy and attended Syracuse University. Married October 1913 at Hastings, New York to May Barritier, whose death occurred December 27, 1947. As a young man, he taught school at North Boylston. He was employed by the New York Central Railroad, and also owned and operated a farm. In later years, he became a real estate broker and served as Justice of the Peace. He was a member of the Fernwood Methodist Church. Survived by four sons, Louis of Mexico; Herbert of Binghamton; Donald of Marcellus; Richard of Tucson, Arizona; a daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Baxter, Tucson, Arizona; a brother, Winfield, Adams Center; 19 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Burial will be in South Richland cemetery.
