    • REV. D.C. HAVEN

The many friends of Rev. D.C. Haven will learn with regret of the death in Taylor, N.Y. on Thursday, August 3O, where lie had resided since his retirement from the active pastorate. He has, however, been preaching more or less regularly and attended church the preceding Sunday.

Elder Haven was well known, in the local community, and perhaps better known here than-elsewhere, since he was pastor of the Wesleyan. Methodist church of Boylston from 1893 to 1898 and of the Methodist Episcopal church at Goodenongh and the Center church hi this township in 1909-1910. Here his two children grew up, and the daughter married E.M. Hastings of Pulaski, but for many years a resident of Lacona.

He was always most highly esteemed for his Christian character and his quiet yet efficient work. He was a native of Broom County and was 72 years of age. Burial was in the Wesleyan cemetery on Saturday, beside the remains of his first wife, who died, seven years ago. He is survived by his wife, to whom he was joined two years ago, by his son, Rev. A.S. Haven, pastor at Cherry Valley, and by his daughter, Mrs. E.M. Hastings of Pulaski.

Among the other charges he has acceptably served nave been Steuben, Redfield, Plattsburg and Rockwood.
