Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, August 3, 1904 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Caroline Root Cole, wife of Clark W. Cole, daughter of the late Norman Root, of this village, passed peacefully away at her late home, about three miles from this village, in the Leihy district, last Wednesday morning. Caroline Root was born in Otsego County, New York, July 24, 1827. She was married to Clark W. Cole, December 18, 1850, and celebrated her fiftieth anniversary in 1900. There were born of this union eight children, Mrs. B. H. Eggleston, of Villie_, Iowa; Mrs. Marion Whitney, of Syracuse, New York; Mrs. Martha S. Garrett, deceased; Rev. W. W. Cole, of Milford, New York; Mrs. H. A. Stowell, of Syracuse, New York; Emory Cole, of New London, New York; and Freeman H. S. Cole, of Corning, Iowa; and Norman Root Cole, of Pulaski, New York. Mrs. Cole was a kind and loving mother, a devoted companion and a beloved Christian neighbor and friend. She united with the M. E. church of Daysville, New York, in youth and after her marriage changed her membership to the Pulaski M. E. church and she was also a member of the South Richland Grange. Her funeral was largely attended on Friday from her late home, Rev. B. D. F. Snyder officiating.
