Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, March 13, 1969 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - R. L. Fleming Dies at 79 - Adams - Ray L. Fleming, 79, died Wednesday at the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, which he entered Tuesday. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Piddock Funeral Home, with Rev. William F. Barton, pastor of Adams Village Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the spring in Daysville Cemetery. Friends may call today at the funeral home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Surviving besides his wife, Mrs. Maude Price Fleming, are a brother, Byran Fleming, Malone; two nieces, Miss Marie Gates, Mexico, and Miss Mary Jane Race, Liverpool; grandnieces and nephews. He was born October 24, 1889, at Daysville, a son of Cheney and Nellie Williamson Fleming. After attending Pulaski Academy, he entered the employ of the New York Central railroad in 1913 as agent and operator until his retirement in 1959. On June 28, 1911, he married Miss Maude Price in Syracuse. Mr. Fleming was a member of Daysville United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge F. & A. M., Brewerton, The Royal Arch Masons of Adams and the Brotherhood of Railway Telegraphers.
