Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, February 21, 1952 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. Watkins, 75, Taken by Death - Last rites for Mrs. Eliza Watkins, 75, who died at the family home in Lewis street Thursday evening, were conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Taylor funeral home. The Rev. James N. Pauley, pastor of the Methodist church, officiated. Interment was made in the Richland cemetery. She had been in ill health the past two months. She returned to her home last Sunday from St. Joseph's hospital where she had been a patient six weeks following the amputation of her leg. Surviving are two daughters, Miss Irene Watkins at home and Mrs. James (Ruby) Trumble of Fulton; two sons, Floyd W. and Willard H., both of Pulaski; three grandchildren and two nieces. Mrs. Watkins was born in Jonesville, Michigan, July 25, 1876, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Rice. She was married to Alonzo Watkins, March 13, 1893, in Pulaski where she had made her home since. Mr. Watkins died December 11, 1934. She was employed as a cook for well over 50 years in the village, 27 years at the Randall hotel and for many years as pastry cook in the Coffee Shoppe, now Dracos Restaurant. She was a member of the Methodist church.
