    • Spencer Chauncey Nelson - October 22, 1825 - November 1, 1910. Son of Labana and Elizabeth Purdy Nelson. Husband of Caroline Frances McCarty Nelson. Married about 1850.
Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, November 9, 1910 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Meacham District - Tuesday afternoon our community was startled by the sudden and unexpected announcement that our neighbor, Mr. Spencer Nelson was dead. He went to Richland in the forenoon and returned feeling as well as ever. After eating his dinner he went about his work as usual. He was helping his son load corn in the wagon when without warning he fell over in the wagon box. Clayton Hill was called and he and the son carried him into the house and Dr. F. S. Lowe of Pulaski was summoned. Coroner Hollis, after an investigation, deemed an inquest unnecessary as death resulted from heart failure. He was born 85 years ago in Richland and has always lived in this town. Nearly 60 years ago he married Caroline Frances McCarty of Richland. Over 50 years ago he built and moved into his residence where he has since lived. Besides his wife, he leaves a son Thomas, and a brother, Mr. E. Nelson, of Selkirk, and two granddaughters. The funeral was held Thursday, Rev. A. A. Hand officiating, interment in Richland cemetery. The family desire to thank all who gave aid and sympathy in the hour of this sad bereavement
