Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, February 4, 1937 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Mrs. Laura Briggs, aged 56 years, widow of Charles Briggs, died at Friday night, January 29, 1937, at the home of James Whaley, Richland, where she had made her home for the past eight years. She is survived by two sons, Benjamin and Clayton Briggs, both of Binghamton; two stepsons, Ira Briggs of Binghamton and Charles Briggs of Henderson; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Eber Frasier of Henderson Harbor and Mrs. rren of Rodman. A daughter, Alta Mae Briggs, was killed in a railroad accident at Richland in 1918. Mr. Briggs died in 1927 in the town of Sandy Creek. They were married in 1899 and had always lived in this vicinity. The funeral was held at the Lawrence Funeral Home, Pulaski at 2 o'clock Monday, and she was laid to rest in the family lot in Richland cemetery.
