Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, January 15, 1936 (newspaper unavailable) - Harrisville, January 15 - Charles Cronk, 63, retired fanner and grocer of Pitcairn Forks, died about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, at his home after an illness of five months with heart disease. He had been a patient at Hepburn hospital for three weeks and returned to his home Sunday night He was born in the town of Richland, Oswego county, in 1872. He spent his early life there and received his education. Thirty-five years ago he married Miss Frances DeLawyer. Sixteen years ago the couple moved to Pitcairn where they operated a farm, until six years ago when they opened the grocery store. Beside his widow he is survived by 13 children, Mrs. Robert Joyner, Mrs. Rose Babcock, Richland; Mrs. Luke Bell, Syracuse; Mrs. Jessie LaBolt, Mrs. Doris Earl, Harrisville; Mrs. Frances Backus, Mrs. Erma Vallier, Star Lake; Samuel Cronk, Edwards; Wilbur Cronk, Gouverneur; Lewis, Earl, Ernest and Kenneth Cronk, Harrisville; two brothers, Arthur, Oswego, and Burt, Richland. Funeral services will be held from the home Friday at 9:30 am. and from Christ church at 10 a.m. with Rev. Fern D. Smith, retired minister, officiating. Burial will be made in Richland cemetery.
