Newspaper Obituary - Friday, January 19, 2001 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Virginia R. Cavellier, Retired Teacher - Virginia Root Cavellier, 80, of 118 Highland Avenue, died Wednesday at New Smyrna Beach, Florida, after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage. Mrs. Cavellier was a home economics teacher at Sandy Creek and later taught at North Junior High School for 22 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Birthday Club for more than 50 years, a life member of the North Junior High School Parent-Teacher Association and enjoyed playing bridge and golf and acquiring collectibles. She had been a winter resident of Florida for 20 years. Born September 24, 1920, in Syracuse, a daughter of Guy H. and Marleah Baldwin Root, she was raised in Truxton and graduated in 1942 from Syracuse University. She married Raymond H. Cavellier on February 7, 1944, in St. John's Catholic Church, Pulaski. Surviving besides her husband are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronald L., Rochester, and Timothy and Candy, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and China; a daughter, Carol Kirch, Rochester; a brother, Bernard Root, Zellwood, Florida; a sister, Jeanne Candee, Monroeville, Pennsylvania, and six grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Spring burial will be in Richland. Arrangements are with Settle- Wilder Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Newspaper Obituary - Saturday, April 28, 2001 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - A graveside service for Virginia "Ginny" Root Cavellier, 80, of 118 Highland Avenue, will be at noon May 5 in Richland Cemetery. A reception will follow at 2 p.m. at the Highland Avenue home. Mrs. Cavellier died January 17 at New Smyrna Beach, Florida, after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage. Arrangements in Florida were with Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach.
