- Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, January 30, 1890 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Died - Near Port Ontario, New York, January 16th, 1890, Arminda, relict of the late David H. Ehle, of Sandy Creek, aged 79 years, 1 month and 14 days. The subject was born at Selkirk, New York, December 2, 1819. She was the daughter of Conrad and Elizabeth Ripsom and sister of the late Captain Benjamin and John Ripsom and Mrs. J. A. McChesney. She was the last of her family. She was twice married, being united with C. C. Hinman, March 7, '40. They subsequently lived at Oswego, New York, Sandusky, and Cleveland, Ohio. After the loss of her husband she, with her son, Erwin, born in 1849, returned east, residing in Sandy Creek and Richland. She was united in marriage with the late David H. Ehle, of Sandy Creek, October 14, 1861. Her husband, dying December 31, 1874, she, with her son and daughter, Carrie, born October 7, 1862, returned to the town of Richland in the autumn of 1876, purchasing the homestead on Lake street, west of Pulaski, where they have since resided. She experienced religion and united with the M. E. church while residing at Cleveland, Ohio, and has since walked in Christian faith and integrity, and, while not demonstrative, she was loved by her friends and respected by all who made her acquaintance. Her illness was brief and painful, but she passed quietly away the last, leaving her sorrowing son and daughter the assurance of a blissful immortality in the life beyond. The funeral was held from her late residence on Saturday, January 18th, Rev. A. Bramley, of Pulaski, officiating. The interment was at Sand Hill Cemetery.
January 16, 1890~Amanda Ehle, age 70 years, 1 month, 14 days, Widow, born in Richland Township, Daughter of Conrad Ripson and Elizabeth Mason, died in Port Ontario, Richland Township of disease of the heart and diarrhea.
