Newspaper Obituary - Monday Afternoon, May 23, 1921 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Father Conducted Old-Time Tavern - Mrs. Ellen M. North, 82, Dies At Pulaski - Harrington Hotel Famous - Was Favorite Resort in Latter Part of 19th Century - Woman Ill But Short Time - Pulaski, May 23 - Mrs. Ellen M. North, 82, died at 3:30 Saturday afternoon, following a short illness. About a week ago she motored to Daysville and visited the cemetery at that place for the purpose of having the family lot placed in good condition for Memorial day. Mrs. North was a native of the town of Richland and was born August 5, 1838, at Port Ontario, four miles west of Pulaski. Her father, Captain Adolphus Harrington for many years conducted the old Harrington tavern, as it was known in those days, and who passed away about a quarter of a century ago. The old landmark, a favorite resort way back in the 80's and 90's was destroyed by fire September 12, 1902, and was erected about 75 years prior to its destruction by fire. Lambert G. North, son-in-law of Adolphus Harrington, the former's death occurring in this village about two years ago, conducted the Harrington hotel a number of years. He was the husband of Mrs. North. For many years Mrs. North had been a member of the First Methodist Episcopal church and also affiliated with its missionary societies. She also was a member of J. B. Butler Women's Relief Corps. There are no surviving relatives. Rev. Charles T. Holcombe, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church, will officiate at the funeral, which will be held at the family home at Salina and Box streets at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon. Burial will be made in the Daysville cemetery, where the body will be taken by Smiley J. Hewitt, undertaker. Members of the Women's Relief Corps will attend the funeral in a body.
