      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, August 19, 1931 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. Florence M. Bentley, 71, widow of John E. Bentley, late of this village, died at Pillar Point Monday morning where she had been staying the past five weeks. Mrs. Bentley was born in Theresa, Jefferson County, March 9, 1860, daughter of James and Mary Desmore Petrie. Her husband died in 1927. She is survived by her mother; one sister, Mrs. W. D. Carnes of Watertown, where the mother makes her home; and two sons, J. Winn Bentley of Elmira and Purley J. Bentley of New York. She was a member of the Methodist church of this village and when her health peiuiitted was active in the societies of the church. She was also a member and past president of J. B. Butler Women's Relief Corps and the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion. Funeral services were held at the late home of the Bentley family on Lake street yesterday afternoon, Rev. Albert E. Lawrence, officiating. Burial was made in Willis cemetery.
