Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, April 4, 1950 Daily Press - Utica, New York - Mrs. Lucius Nelson - Camden - Mrs. Martha E. Nelson, 79, Third Street, died April 2, 1950, at her home after a long illness. She was born October 26, 1870 in Ava, a daughter of Cornelius and Mary Billington Wafful. She was married to Lucius C. Nelson September 17, 1890, in Orwell. She lived in Richland, Watertown and Utica before moving here 14 years ago. She was a member of the Camden Methodist Church. Mrs. Nelson leaves her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Vincent M. Scranuzza, Northampton, Massachusetts, and Mrs. Ernest Graham, two half-sisters, Mrs. Hattie Gillespie, Williamstown, and Mrs. Esther Thompson, Herkimer, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday from the Sanborn Funeral Home, the Rev. Carlton G. Van Ornum, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery.
