Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, September 17, 1958 Syracuse Herald-Journal - Syracuse, New York - Funeral for McElver to Be Friday ¬Phoenix - Clarence L. McElver, 71, of Phoenix, died yesterday in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Syracuse after an illness of several years. He was a veteran of World War I and resided here 10 years before moving to Bellville last July. He was a native of Oswego. Mr. McElver is survived by his widow, Mrs. Cecile McElver; a son, Robert of Phoenix RD 1; a stepson, Parker Godfrey of Bellville; a sister, Mrs. Bertram Moore of Linden, New Jersey, and three grandchildren. Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in Hopkins Funeral Home, Phoenix The Rev. Norman Isaman, pastor of the Congregational Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Richland. Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
