Newspaper Obituary - Friday Evening, January 9, 1920 Oswego Daily Times - Oswego, New York - The death of Frank E. Rowland, a well-known resident of Utica, who formerly resided in Oswego, where he was equally well known, occurred in a hospital at Utica yesterday morning following an operation resulting from gall stones. Mr. Rowland was born in Williamstown fifty-three years ago, a son of James and the late Sarah Rowland. He received his education in the public schools of that village and went to Oswego, where he lived up to six years ago, when he came to this city. For thirty-eight years Mr. Rowland was a conductor on the R. W. & O. railroad. It was during this time that he made many friends who will deeply regret to learn of his death. He was a member of the Masonic Order and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of Oswego, and a member of Calvary Baptist church, Utica. Thirty years ago he married Miss Thersis Sprague, who survives, together with his father, James Rowland of Williamstown; a son, Carl E. Rowland of Syracuse, and a daughter, Mrs. L. P. Godfrey, Utica in addition to five brothers and two sisters. While a resident of Utica Mr. Rowland made his home at 101 Proctor Boulevard.
