      Newspaper Obituary - Sunday, February 15, 1998 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Gleason T. Viers, 82, of 212 Crestview Drive, Syracuse, brother of Viola Viers, Pulaski, died Friday at Community General Hospital, Syracuse. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold W. Bruen officiating. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood. Calling hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. Monday and 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 2200 Valley Drive, Syracuse, New York 13207.

      Gleason T. Viers, 82, of 212 Crestview Drive died Friday at Community-General Hospital.

      Born in Richland, he was a 1950 graduate of Syracuse University. He lived in Fulton before moving to Syracuse in 1948. He retired in 1985 after 35 years as a traffic manager with Jaquith Industries Inc. He also worked many years for the Nestle Co. in Fulton.

      He was a member of American Legion Post 1468, St. Paul's United Methodist Church and several transportation organizations and a former member of the Hiawatha Council Boy Scout Committee.

      Surviving are his wife, the former Myrtle P. Sprague; a sister, Viola Viers of Pulaski; and several cousins.

      Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home. Burial is in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood.

      Calling hours are 4 to 6 p.m. Monday and 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 52 Park St., Pulaski.
