[Note: Clayton Haley died September 8, 1995 in New Port Richey, Florida, his obituary cannot be found. His military records state he was buried in Sacred Heart Cemetery at Wellsville, Allegheny County, New York.]
Newspaper Obituary - Friday, May 14, 1999 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Tressie M Haley S. U. Library Retiree - Tressie M Haley, 86, of Syracuse, a native of Affirm, died Tuesday at Southern Pines Nursing Home, New Port Richey, Florida. She was born February 19. 1913, in Altmar, a daughter of Willie and Grace Moore Ames. Her husband, Clayton Haley, died in 1995. Mrs. Haley, who lived in Syracuse before moving to Florida in 1992, retired from Syracuse University library in 1985 after 10 years of service. She also had been employed at New York Central Depot and Lynn's Department Store, both in Syracuse. Surviving are a daughter, Shirley Gokey, Syracuse; a son, William A., New Port Richey, Florida; a sister, Avis Hager, New Haven; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 am. Saturday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
