  Feb 11 1985 Sandy Creek News Elwyn D. Allen, aged 74 of Williamstown died February 5, 1985 at Rome City Hospital. He was born July 8, 1910, son of Harry and Blanche Snow Allen. He attended schools in the Ricard area and was employed at Rome Cable Co. in Rome for years. He married Louella K. Lyons June 2, 1934. They resided in Altmar for many years. Mrs. Allen died March 29, 1982. He was a member of the Ricard Grange for 56 years. Survivors include two sons, Harold D. and Elwyn H., both of Altmar; three daughters, Mrs. Norman (Norma) Tanner, Mrs. Claude (Evelyn) House, both of Altmar and Mrs. Howard (Lucille) Smith of Williamstown; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Lyndon (Joyce) Brown of Mannsville; two brothers, Howard of Altmar and Leon of Williamstown; fourteen grand children and 19 great grandchildren. The funeral was held Friday at the Foster Funeral Home with Rev. Adalbert Edwards officiating. Spring burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Williamstown.
